| White Mass |
Having an annual White Mass for health care professionals is a tradition within the Catholic Church. The purpose of the White Mass is to honor St. Luke as Patron of Physicians, and to honor the medical profession as a whole. As Catholic physicians, residents, medical students and health care workers, we take as our model the Divine Physician, Jesus Christ. Therefore, a characteristic part of every White Mass is the renewal of our special promise to carry out the healing work of Our Lord while abiding by His Laws. All are invited to attend. |

The term White Mass refers to the white coats worn universally as a symbol of the medical profession. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear their white coats to carry on the tradition. |
